Non-licensed asbestos removal in Leicester

Safe removal and disposal of lower-risk asbestos materials for homes and businesses across the East Midlands.

What we remove

Non-licensed work covers asbestos materials that are lower risk when handled correctly by trained workers. Typical examples:

  • Asbestos cement roof sheets and wall cladding
  • Cement gutters, downpipes, flues and water tanks
  • Textured coatings such as Artex
  • Vinyl and thermoplastic floor tiles
  • Bitumen roofing felt and adhesives

Asbestos waste is wrapped, labelled and disposed of as hazardous waste.

What does “non-licensed” mean?

Under HSE rules, higher-risk asbestos work must be done by a contractor holding an HSE licence. That includes sprayed coatings, pipe lagging and most work on asbestos insulating board (AIB).

Lower-risk materials can be removed without a licence by trained workers following the right controls. That's the work we do. If your job needs a licensed contractor, we'll tell you.

Not sure if it's asbestos?

You can't tell by looking. If a material hasn't been tested, it should be sampled or surveyed before anyone works on it. Get in touch with photos and we'll talk you through it.

Asbestos questions

Is my garage roof asbestos?

Many garage and outbuilding roofs built before 2000 used asbestos cement sheets. The only way to be sure is to have it tested. Send us photos and we can advise on next steps.

Does the HSE need to be told about the work?

Some non-licensed work counts as notifiable non-licensed work (NNLW), which must be notified to the HSE before it starts. It depends on the material and its condition.

What happens to the asbestos afterwards?

Asbestos is hazardous waste. It's wrapped, labelled and taken to a site licensed to accept it.

Can you remove the asbestos and do the demolition?

Yes. Where the asbestos is non-licensed, we can remove it and then carry out the demolition or strip out.
